Abilify (Aripiprazole) is an antipsychotic that can be used in a variety of medical circumstances. Abilify (Aripiprazole) is also able to treat irritability in autism cases as well as tourette's disorder.

Before taking Aripiprazole consult the paper work given to you by your pharmacist, and make sure to check with your doctor if the directions are unclear. Aripiprazole is usually taken as an oral dose once a day with or without food. The dose ranges from 2 mg to 30 mg and can take several weeks before you feel the full benefit of the drug. Depending on the diagnosis and the guidance of your doctor, the dosage of the medication can be increased over the course of several weeks.

For missed doses take Abilify (Aripiprazole) as soon as you remember. If the missed dose is closer to your next scheduled dose, skip it to avoid double dosing and continue your regular schedule.

Make sure to stay hydrated while taking this and consult your physician about drinking grapefruit juice while on Abilify (Aripiprazole).

Avoid alcohol and illegal drugs while taking Abilify (Aripiprazole) as they could worsen the medical condition and increase unwanted side effects by the medication. If an overdose occurs call your doctor or 911 right away as you may require urgent care.
