Altace is also known by the generic name Ramipril and can be prescribed to treat hypertension. Ramipril is classified as a ACE inhibitor and relaxes blood vessels to help blood flow to prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
Altace is taken once or twice a day orally with or without food. The exact dosage is determined by your doctor based on your condition and response to the treatment.
