Mirapex is also known by the generic name Pramipexole and can be prescribed to treat Parkinson's disease or in some cases of restless legs syndrome. Pramipexole is a dopamine agonist that works by helping restore chemical balance in the brain to decrease tremors, stiffness, unsteadiness and increase movement.

Before taking Mirapex make sure to read the paper work and instructions given to you by your pharmacist. Mirapex is taken orally with or without food. Taking Mirapex with food reduces the chances of feeling nauseous afterwards.

In some cases your doctor will start you on a low dose of Mirapex and gradually increase to an optimal dose that you will take regularly every eight hours or as directed by your doctor.
