Restasis is an ophthalmic solution (eye drops) containing Cyclosporine Opthalmic Emulsion to help treat cases of dry eyes. Cyclosporine helps the body generate more tears naturally and reduces symptoms of dry eyes.

Make sure to read the paper work and instructions given to you by your pharmacist before you use Restasis. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before you administer the eye drops. Place one to two drops in the effected eye(s) twice a day.

If you are using other ophthalmic solutions, allow at least 15 minutes in between uses of other medications while you take Restasis. Your vision can become impaired slightly after using Restasis. Make sure to wait until your vision clears before driving or operating heavy machinery.

Speak with your doctor about prior medical conditions, past eye infections, known allergies, and any current medication you are taking before knowing if Restasis is the right treatment option for you.

Avoid contamination by washing your hands before applying the eye drops. Take extra care to not let the tip come into contact with the eye or any surface.

Some side effects can include:

blurred vision

discharge coming out of eyes

If any of these side effects become too severe during treatment, speak with your doctor or pharmacist for help with managing the side effects.
