Travatan is an ophthalmic solution containing Travoprost used for treating high pressure in the eye in cases of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Travoprost helps control the amount of fluid that flows in the eye to reduce pressure and relieve symptoms of glaucoma
Take care to read all the paperwork and instructions that come with your package of Travatan before using the ophthalmic solution. Before applying the eye drops wash your hands to avoid contamination. Remove any contact lenses and take care not to let the dropper touch your eye or any surface. Place one drop in the effected eye(s) once a day in the evening.
Allow at least five minutes between application of medications if you are using other ophthalmic solutions. Regular use of this medication will ensure the best results and you must continue using the eye drops even if you feel better.
Speak with your doctor about known allergies as there are ingredients that can induce an allergic reaction. Disclose any current medication, prior medical conditions, and any supplementation to ensure a safe effective treatment with Travatan.
Travatan can cause blurred vision temporarily. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you are a certain that you can safely do so.
Some side effects can include:
blurred vision, eye redness/discomfort/itching, feeling as if something is in your eye, stinging or burning of the eyes after using the drops, dry or watery eyes, tearing, eyelid crusting, increase in eyelash number/length/thickness, darkening of the eyelashes and eyelids, increased sensitivity to light, headache.
Speak with your doctor or pharmacist if any side effects severe during treatment with Travatan.
Q: Can I use this while pregnant or breast feeding?

Q: How should I store Travatan
A: Store this medication at room temperature away from children and pets. Make sure the cap is tight when not being used and never dispose in wastewater. If you are unsure of how to safely dispose unwanted or expired medications speak with your local pharmacist for disposal options.
Q: I have to take many eye drop solutions, is it ok to also take Travatan?
A: Yes, there are cases where there are multiple ophthalmic solutions being used to treat various eye conditions. Allow at least five minutes between medications to ensure the body absorbs each solution. Speak with your doctor to better understand the scheduling and use of multiple eye drop solutions.
